No-Code Robotics Software Unveiled, Hannover Messe 2024

Bow said its first-of-its-kind platform solves a current issue of interoperability between robotic models

Robotics software company Bow has demonstrated what it says is the first-of-its-kind robotics platform to make robots code-agnostic, interoperable and scalable.

The software is being demonstrated at this year’s Hannover Messe, taking place April 22-26 in Hanover, Germany.

The software allows users to program robots across different operating systems and simulate their solution in real time using Bow’s simulator platform. 

The resulting algorithms can be applied across robot models, solving the challenge of interoperability and scalability, according to Bow.

Bow said its mission is to make robotics more accessible and scalable, with a particular focus on making programming languages more user-friendly and standardized so programmers can operate multiple robotics models.

“The industrial robotics industry is forecast to more than double within the next six years from $40.6 billion in 2024 to $90.3 billion in 2030,” said Nick Thompson, Bow’s CEO. “But for robotics to achieve its full potential, the current complexity of programming and deployment must be solved, 

“Bow is a universal robotics software platform that allows anyone with software development skills to quickly and easily program robots in their language and OS of choice, simulate and deploy interoperable robots.”

At Hannover, the platform will be demonstrated in two quadruped robots from inMotion Robotic, designed for inspection purposes in power stations, factories and pipeline corridors, and in emergency search and rescue environments.

It will also be demonstrated in Sarcomere Dynamics’ ARTUS Lite robotic hand, which “replicates human capability” in manipulating objects and tools and is designed for applications such as bomb disposal to industrial hazardous material handling.

“At Hannover Messe, we are excited to launch two new models of the European version of our quadruped robot to the European market with Bow software integrated as standard,” said Kai Leuze, inMotion Robotic’s CEO. “Bow is an integral software partner – their SDK and platform enable our customers to deploy these robots across a variety of applications, including construction, inspection, rescue operations and industrial.”

“We selected Bow as our software partner because their platform allows for rapid AI, machine learning and kinematic programming,” said Harpal Mandaher, Sarcomere Dynamics’s CEO. “This is a key capability that allows complex teleoperations systems, with our ARTUS Lite high dexterity hands, to unlock use-cases from bomb disposal to hazardous material handling in the nuclear industry.”
