Automotive Cybersecurity Tool Launches

Electronics company Keysight Technologies is partnering with automotive group ETAS to create a new cybersecurity solution for automakers, responding to the increased vulnerabilities seen as more cars become connected.

Under the collaboration, ETAS’s smart automotive fuzzer tool, the CycurFUZZ, will be integrated into Keysight’s Automotive Cybersecurity Test Platform.

A fuzzer tool works by injecting invalid inputs into a device to reveal vulnerabilities. By integrating ETAS’s CycurFUZZ into Keysight’s platform, automakers can rapidly and autonomously test vehicle software, identifying potential issues and mitigating any cybersecurity threats.

“Our agreement with Keysight is an example of how collaboration enables automakers and their suppliers to constantly improve the software quality and cyber resilience of their products,” said Eric Cesa, ETAS’ vice president of sales in North America. 

“Future-proof testing is vital to mitigating the risks of evolving automotive cyberattacks,” said Thomas Goetzl, Keysight’s vice president. “Working with ETAS to incorporate this fast fuzzing test into our automotive cybersecurity solution will help end-users meet industry standards while growing their threats database knowledge.”
